I have written a chōka
dance in tapping trance
deathly silence all around
waltzing to Fate's rhythm
twirling away Pain's lashes
dewy drops recall
flaming fires from skies burning
land to ashy dust
home and hearth loved now no more
what they lost is gone for sure

This is so good! I love the alliteration and the imagery you’ve used. The emotion is oozing out of each line. Great poem! 🙂
