Ethereal moon,

And a dark canopy,

Amidst the twinkling stars.

I look at it,

Faraway and yet so near,

Gliding along as I move on.

Silvery beams spreading hope,

Amidst the dreary cheer.

Moon,the pristine orb,

I look at it in awe.

As I moon over what we had,

I forget what is.

Days roll by,

Ushering in the dark nights,

Tainted with silvery streaks,

The moon’s rays rain on me,

Infusing an exuberant ardour.

I no longer moon over what was,

For I relish what I have.
