#TankaTuesday Weekly Poetry Challenge No. 277: #Tastetherainbow-Color Poetry

Without black, no color has any depth. But if you mix black with everything, suddenly there’s shadow – no, not just shadow, but fullness. You’ve got to be willing to mix black into your palette if you want to create something that’s real.” ~Amy Grant

My color of the day is black.Black is not always grim and dark. It may be a friend in strife,a difficult reprieve.
Even the darkest of nights are adorned with shining stars and silvery pale moonlight.
I have attempted to put my thoughts in the Tanka
dark brooding shadow
lengthens under aura of
burnished golden rays -
etched avatar dwarfs my soul
shouting aloud what I hid
