I can see the sun rise,
Over the rooftops of my town,
But the darkness lingers
in the woods behind me,
Dripping from broken branches
in ways that only darkness could.
The peace has long fled my being,
I can feel the talons of darkness
that grip my heart.
The sun warms the waking world,
As I breath out puffs of white smoke,
For its rays reach everyone,
Except me who needs it the most.
I could relate with your post, Indishe. Wish you abundant joy and peace. 🙂
