NaPoWriMo 2021 #TANKA TUESDAY WEEKLY #POETRY CHALLENGE NO 223,# THEME PROMPT

Kat from last month’s challenge picked the theme:

“Pick a Flower” and using one of the syllabic forms we use, tell us why it is special to you.

My favourite flower is the white rose in my pot on the window sill.

I have written a double nonet.
A solitary white rose perched high,
Untarnished unblemished beauty,
Spreading a blissful fragrance,
I caressed soft petals,
A tiny thorn pricked,
Scarlet drops stained,
White petals,
Blithely,
Dance.
White Rose laughed at my naivete,
No mire could defile its nimbus,
A blemish only shines more,
It stood loftly aglow,
It’s blemished beauty,
Infusing hope,
In turmoil,
To shine.
Bright.
