Today’s prompt, comes from Holly Lyn Walrath.
Go to a book you love. Find a short line that strikes you. Make that line the title of your poem. Write a poem inspired by the line. Then, after you’ve finished, change the title completely.
I have just read Les Misérables by Victor Hugo and my favourite lines from this book is:
“Even the darkest night will end and the sun will rise.”
New Beginnings
New beginnings and new hopes,
New dreams to unfold!
As you light up myriad lights,
Their luminiscence sparkles in your eyes,
The incandescent glow,
It lights your way in dark.
Come what may,
You know you will find your way.
You got lost in the labyrinth of life,
But the dazzling aura,
It becomes your beacon,
The lantern of fervor,
And the radiant zest,
It ushered you forward.
Your lights will sparkle eternal,
As you traverse terrains new,
If tomorrow comes,
It will be a harbinger of things new,
Ushering in an ardent hope,
Unearthing a cache of hidden dreams.
If tomorrow comes,
It will write new stories,
Etching the leaves of time,
Erasing the tales of yore,
That mean no more.
If tomorrow comes,
You shall traverse on paths untread,
Fears alloyed with fiery bloom,
As vistas unroll,
And panoramas sweeped,
And your Morrow,
It will be the master of your Today!
