Colleen’s 2020 Weekly #Tanka Tuesday #Poetry Challenge No. 188, #ThemePrompt

Sue Vincent selected the theme this week with a quote prompt:

“Trees are sanctuaries. Whoever knows how to speak to them, whoever knows how to listen to them, can learn the truth.” Herman Hesse

I have written a double etheree as an an ode to a tree that I see each day!

Watch you,

Reaching high

Unbridled rise

Amidst azure sky,

Basking in deep warm hues,

Enconsced in soft pristine dews,

Your verdant lush dazzled so bright,

Dirty diaspora looked haggled,

And it could not eye your idyllic bloom.

Your green canopy shaded all around,

As tiny leaves rustled to wind’s sound,

A euphonic symphony spread,

The ringed bark weathered with time,

Braving many tempests,

Branches with prop roots,

Paying homage,

To its soil,
