She refused to give up her light,
No storm could bring her to her knees,
For she was not as brittle as stone.
She was a figure of flesh and blood,
As deep as the ocean,
As unstoppable as the wild tempests.
She would slip like water from their palms,
When they would try to change her path.
The tempest can rage forever,
But the ocean would not kneel.
Her Destiny her own,
She ruled the surf,
For none could command her Life’s Tide
