Flown free

One day,

She floated free,

Breaking all those bonds,

Ties that anchored her not.

She called out to deaf walls,

Her cries resonated in her own ears,

And tears that shed,

But moved none.

She wanted a hand to hold to,

An ear to whisper her untold fears into.

Her cries stifled,

Her pain silenced.

She now just let it go,

For she had flown free.

A requiem to her agony,

And they have all gathered to lay wreaths,

Mouthing inane Rest – in-Peace.

If they had held her hand,

May be she would have walked along.
