A new Day

Steaming vitriol,

Caustic fumes,

Tightening smog,

And the grey world!

You wonder in disbelief,

How much more the mire could spread!

A hazy oblivion of happiness,

As knoll sounds in distant chimes.

You look around,

Poking in crannies,

Stoking the ire that wants spew,

But it refuses to go.

That leaden feel,

And heavy heart!

But you still hope,

For the sun to rise,

And dispel the dreary daze.

You await the new dawn,

Bright and sunny,

When your eyes will smile again.
