Be You

There is beauty in your imperfections,

The things that are most true,

Are filled with flaws, covered in cracks,

You stumble on your sentences,

Forget the words that you need,

You are real,

To those parading as perfection,

Pay them no heed,

For it is you and how you feel,

It is you and those you love,

Which are things that are the most real,

And if that means burnt food and breakdowns,

Know that there is strength in your salty tears,

You’ll not let the world tell you that there is failure in your fears,

Be afraid and forgetful with all your heart,

But if it has been smashed into smithereens,

Then be yourself with every part.
