The serried twists,,

They bend so close,

In deep folds.

I walk along in tremulous fear,

Gingerly circumventing the folds,

The sharp edges bite into my soul,

Ripping it at its core.

On the two sides,

An endless abyss,

Rolling into infinite caverns,

Stretching into deep gorges.

My eyes swim with tears unshed,

My cries resonate inside,

I feel choked,

As I gasp for some air to breathe.

I want to fly from the serrated crests,

Into the warm troughs below,

Where all will end,

And torment no more.

But the indented terrain of life,

Serried with so much pain,

Taking tests at every corner,

Filling up all the cauldron,

Full of tribulation and heart-ache.

But I trudge along,

In hope and fear,

I shall survive the sharp meandering twists,

And reach the plains.

And then,

Life would be a sunshine,

Life would be a game,

As I would be seasoned with pain.
