Sunday sublime

Today is a bright sunny day.

But the gentle cool gusts of wind seem to blow away the blues.

Leaves rustle in the wind making their whispering music.

The twitter of birds in the morning create a melodious symphony in contrast to the raucous cries of crows all day long.

Spring is in the air.

I am feeling happy and at peace with the world.

I set out to enjoy myself in one of the patisseries dotting the neighbourhood.

The smell of freshly baked waffles and pastry waft in the air.

I walk into one.
It’s name is Poetry-Love and Cheescake.

The window is adorned with a beautiful collection of classics.

I walk in mesmerised.
Its subtle ambience lifts up my mood.

The low hanging lights cast dancing shadows here and there.

And the platter of delectable and mouth-watering goodies make me feel hungry.

I chuck my diet for the day into the thin air. Even my body needs a cheat day! Some delinquency is a must to stay disciplined. 😜
I order a delicious Red Velvet Cheesecake.
And devour it with a gusto.

Oh for such a scrumptious treat!

And as I sit there, I scribble down the words in my diary as the Cheesecake becomes my Muse.
“The melting morsels
of pure ecstasy took me to a land sublime.
The delectable shoots of sweetness transported me to a surreal time.
I was in a trance as my taste buds danced.
The delicate aromas in the mouth washing down all the angst simmering inside.
I was placated and satiated.
I desired no more.
I looked around to see a world that was blue no more.”

I walk out with a smile on my face and a spring in my step.

This Sunday is indeed a Fun Day.

Hope all of you too enjoy this Sunday!

  1. Love the serenity and calming sense your writing gives.
That patisserie looks amazing, love the name too. Oddly, in the first cake photo, I was drawn to the one you chose!
Enjoy the rest of your day in peace and tranquillity x
